About the role#
Layup Parts is building an automated factory to produce composite parts for the aerospace, defense, and motorsports industries. We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Intern to join our hardware team. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Huntington Beach, California. We accept applications on a rolling basis for all seasons.
What you'll do#
- Help build out our automated factory.
- Learn electrical systems engineering, control design, and robotics.
- Work on factory machinery and industrial equipment.
- Design, retrofit, and commission robots and automated systems.
- Collaborate with the software engineering and mechanical design teams to solve production problems.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Computer, or Biomedical Engineering.
- Strong engineering ability and a focus on fundamental principles.
- Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems.
- Experience with electrical systems design and robotic systems.
- Understanding of the mechanical and manufacturing world, specifically regarding part design and composites.
- Must meet U.S. government export regulation requirements (ITAR).
