About the role#
Layup Parts is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join our production team in Huntington Beach. You will help us manufacture composite parts for high-tech customers. This is a hands-on role where you will work directly with our production processes to solve problems and improve efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Design molds and tools for customer parts and create clear documentation.
- Generate plies and kits from customer designs, including projector data and programming.
- Support DFM efforts and cost reduction initiatives to help customers scale their production.
- Work on the production floor to identify bottlenecks and develop scalable solutions that make work easier.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering.
- Experience with composites manufacturing, whether from school projects, hobbies, or previous work.
- Proficiency in a professional CAD suite such as NX, SolidWorks, or Catia.
- Ability to create professional drawings for manufacture.
- U.S. Persons status is required to access export-controlled data.
- Bonus points for experience with vacuum infusion, compression molding, trapped rubber molding, or wet-layup, as well as design experience for lamination, machining, and 3D printing.
