About the role#
This internship offers exposure to the design, documentation, analysis, and testing of ruggedized electronic equipment. You will work with the Mechanical Engineering team on electronics packaging, chassis integration, and thermal management. Our engineers follow projects from the concept phase through design and testing. You will gain experience across this entire product lifecycle rather than focusing on a single task.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers with design details, calculations, and analysis.
- Carry out basic work instructions and complete assigned tasks on time.
- Conduct limited scope testing under supervision.
- Gather and assemble data for engineering projects.
- Perform research in specific fields as needed.
- Support the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
- Complete a variety of tasks to learn engineering methods and practices.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Completed at least two full academic years of study, entering junior year or beyond.
- Experience with Creo, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD.
- Ability to create or interpret 2D engineering drawings, assemblies, and bills of material.
- Hands-on experience from coursework, labs, design teams, or prior internships.
- Exposure to electromechanical integration, thermal management, structural design, or manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with fabrication or environmental and reliability testing.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build a professional network.
- A diligent, hardworking, and quick-to-learn attitude.
