About the role#
The Career Development Center is looking for a student worker for the Fall 2026 term. You will support email communications, social media efforts, and storytelling initiatives for the department. This role requires 8-10 hours per week over a consistent schedule of 2-4 work days in the office. You will report to the Assistant Director of Career Development.
What you'll do#
- Draft targeted emails to share job postings, internships, and event details with students, customized by major.
- Research relevant career opportunities for different majors.
- Design social media graphics and email banners in Canva, following department branding guidelines.
- Maintain the communication calendar to ensure timely updates via email, social media, and flyers.
- Create and caption Instagram posts while generating content ideas.
- Interview students and alumni to collect career stories for the online library.
- Greet students at the Career Development Center, answer questions, and assist with appointment check-ins.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Lipscomb undergraduate student.
- Major in English or Communications.
- Sophomore standing or higher is preferred.
- Familiarity with Canva and Instagram.
- Strong proofreading skills and attention to detail.
- Federal Work Study approval is preferred.
- Ability to maintain a consistent office schedule.
