About the role#
LJA is hiring a high school student for a Civil Engineering internship within our Transportation division. This role provides hands-on experience and exposure to the daily operations of an engineering firm. You will work alongside experienced engineers to learn about various project phases and gain insight into our industry.
What you'll do#
- Complete engineering assignments under the guidance of experienced staff.
- Shadow operations to understand how projects move from start to finish.
- Handle unique tasks that contribute to larger project goals.
- Participate in social engagement activities to learn about our services and sectors.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 3 years of high school.
- Interest in pursuing an undergraduate degree in a STEM field.
- Previous engineering or STEM coursework.
- Strong academic performance and a motivated work ethic.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to spot discrepancies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Ability to work well within a team environment.
