About the role#
This is a 10-week summer internship program within the Audit Division at M&T Bank. You will work on projects and department initiatives designed to build professional skills and provide exposure to bank operations. Interns gain access to guest speakers, industry leaders, and a peer network, with priority consideration for future full-time opportunities.
What you'll do#
- Handle entry-level professional duties specific to the Internal Audit department.
- Ensure all activities follow established internal policies and external regulations.
- Follow the company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls.
- Identify risk-related issues that require management escalation.
- Design, implement, and maintain internal controls to mitigate risk.
- Support an inclusive environment that reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain internal control standards, including the implementation of audit points and regulatory requirements.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated computer, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
