About the role#
The Supply Chain Operations internship offers exposure to the end-to-end supply chain network at Macy's. You will work within a fulfillment center to support the flow of products from suppliers to stores and customers. As part of the Process Engineering team, you will identify ways to streamline operations, reduce waste, and improve efficiency. This is a paid, full-time program for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Rotate through each function of a supply chain facility while working alongside operations staff.
- Collect and analyze data regarding workflow efficiency, labor utilization, and equipment performance.
- Support the development, testing, and implementation of process improvements.
- Document best practices using visual tools like process maps and standard operating procedures.
- Utilize order management, transportation management, and warehouse management systems.
- Use metrics and KPIs to complete an individual internship project.
- Participate in senior leader interactions, professional development workshops, and networking events.
- Demonstrate program management skills to oversee the full lifecycle of your projects.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a rising senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or Operations Management.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to run and interpret reports to drive decision-making.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to lift at least 30 lbs, stand for two hours, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders.
