About the role#
As an Electrical Engineering intern or co-op at a Marathon refinery, you will gain experience in the oil and gas industry. You will work alongside professional teams that manage specific parts of the refining process. This role allows you to learn about industry codes, best practices, and how different engineering disciplines collaborate in a refinery environment.
What you'll do#
- Work on electrical and instrumentation projects while developing project management skills like scope alignment, cost development, and scheduling.
- Support area teams across various phases of engineering projects.
- Analyze equipment failures and develop solutions for recurring maintenance difficulties.
- Use electrical analysis software to perform tasks such as Arc Flash studies and power system coordination.
- Learn about Refinery Safety Instrumented Systems and process control systems.
- Troubleshoot system power supply problems and monitor control system performance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering degree program.
- Strong academic performance.
- A valid driver's license.
- Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time, indefinite basis without visa sponsorship.
- Availability for multiple work terms is preferred.
