About the role#
This internship supports the AI Products team at Marvell. You will gain hands-on experience with assembly and packaging technologies, including 2.5D and 3D chip-on-wafer development and co-packaged optics. These technologies are essential for the performance and bandwidth of next-generation data center infrastructure. You will work on bringing AI silicon from initial concept to high-volume manufacturing.
What you'll do#
- Support process development activities for 2.5D and 3D chip-on-wafer assembly and co-packaged optics.
- Collaborate with foundry and OSAT partners on process development and assembly tasks.
- Track and analyze data from packaging builds to identify trends and potential risks during the New Product Introduction phase.
- Document risks and mitigation plans as products mature toward high-volume manufacturing.
- Participate in internal and partner meetings to discuss design-for-manufacturing, reliability, and cost-tradeoffs.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Master's degree program in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between Fall 2027 and Summer 2028.
- Coursework or project experience in semiconductor processing, materials science, or packaging and assembly technologies.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Excel, JMP, or Minitab.
- Experience with programming or scripting languages like Python.
- Prior internship or research experience in a semiconductor, manufacturing, or process engineering setting.
- Basic understanding of reliability testing or failure analysis concepts.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
