About the role#
The Ultrasound Sonographer Extern position supports the Ultrasound Department by assisting with daily workflow. You will gain clinical experience while working alongside imaging professionals. This is a paid, on-site, PRN position based in Florence, South Carolina.
What you'll do#
- Prepare, clean, and stock ultrasound exam rooms between patient appointments.
- Assist sonographers with departmental workflow and report preparation.
- Support patient care activities under the direction of licensed sonographers and department leadership.
- Maintain professional relationships with patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, which must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
