About the role#
As a Design-Build Co-op at Merus, you will apply your academic coursework directly to construction projects. You will work alongside project managers, superintendents, and architects to help deliver results for our clients and investors. This is a full-time, paid position for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the coordination of project design and construction.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, documents, and requests for proposals.
- Help create project schedules, scopes of work, and bid packages.
- Perform quantity take-offs of materials from drawings.
- Communicate project expectations and drawing updates to subcontractors.
- Manage drawing logs, submittals, shop drawings, and meeting minutes.
- Generate contracts, prepare monthly invoices, and issue change-orders.
- Conduct on-site reporting of project progress and operations.
- Formulate weekly progress reports for owner review.
- Deliver miscellaneous packages, permits, and submittals as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience with Microsoft Project, BlueBeam, Procore, or Timberline software is an asset.
- A resilient work ethic and the ability to take ownership of assigned tasks.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- A commitment to building positive working relationships and providing quality service.
- Access to a vehicle for delivering project documents.
