About the role#
As a Design-Build Co-op at Merus, you will apply your classroom knowledge directly to commercial construction projects. You will work alongside project managers, superintendents, and design professionals to coordinate project execution. This is a full-time, paid position for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Read and interpret construction drawings, documents, and requests for proposals.
- Assist in creating project schedules and participate in project planning.
- Create scopes of work and bid packages.
- Perform quantity take-offs of materials from drawings.
- Communicate schedule expectations and drawing updates directly with subcontractors.
- Manage submittals, shop drawings, and drawing logs.
- Generate contracts, prepare monthly invoices, and issue change-orders.
- Attend meetings with project leadership and record meeting minutes.
- Perform daily on-site reporting and create weekly progress reports.
- Deliver permits and project documents as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience with Microsoft Project, BlueBeam, Procore, or Timberline is a plus.
- Ability to take ownership of tasks and focus on project details.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and build positive working relationships.
- A resilient work ethic and a commitment to providing quality service.
- Access to a vehicle for project-related deliveries.

- Location: Cincinnati, Ohio.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- This position requires the ability to perform physical tasks such as walking, climbing, and lifting up to 70 pounds during site visits. You may be exposed to outdoor conditions and high noise levels on construction sites.
