About the role#
Meyer Najem offers a project engineering internship based on-site. You will work directly with our project management and field operations teams to gain real experience. Interns take on responsibilities similar to full-time staff and complete a project to present to senior leadership at the end of the term. Engagement activities include team building events, site tours, and safety walkthroughs.
What you'll do#
- Learn to read plans and understand contract documents.
- Review project specifications.
- Understand how scopes of work are assigned to subcontractors and vendors.
- Use our in-house software programs.
- Create schedules for construction projects.
- Collect and review submittals from subcontractors before they go to the architect.
- Conduct safety audits alongside the VP of Safety and Compliance.
- Build your communication skills.
What you'll need#
- A college degree in Building Construction Management Technology or Construction Engineering Management is preferred.
- Knowledge of building materials and how they are installed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organizational habits.
- 10-Hour OSHA Construction Training certification.
