    About the role#

    The Policy Center at the Middle East Institute offers a full-time internship for the Fall 2026 term. This role supports scholars with research projects, administrative tasks, and event coordination. Interns gain exposure to the political, security, and economic dynamics of the Middle East while supporting the daily operations of a think tank. This is an unpaid position.

    What you'll do#

    • Research specific topics as requested by scholars and assist with fact-checking, editing, and formatting.
    • Stay current on news, trends, and developments within the region.
    • Handle administrative tasks such as managing correspondence, travel, and information requests.
    • Manage logistics for events, including preparing invitations and background materials.
    • Support scholars with social media outreach efforts.

    What you'll need#

    • Current undergraduate, graduate student, or recent graduate in Middle East studies, international affairs, political science, history, communications, or a related field.
    • A GPA of 3.5 or higher.
    • Proficiency in research tools and data analysis software like Excel or Spreadsheets.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

    • Location: Washington, DC (On-site).
    • Term: Fall 2026 (September 7, 2026 to December 11, 2026).
    • Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
