    About the role#

    The Programs and Events Department manages the public and private webinars, roundtables, panels, and conferences for the Middle East Institute. You will assist the team in planning and executing these events while supporting logistical and communications needs. This role provides hands-on experience in nonprofit event management and offers mentorship from professionals in the field.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist with event-related research, outreach, and planning.
    • Support interdepartmental communication regarding event logistics.
    • Attend webinars, roundtables, and panels to take notes.
    • Analyze event data to help identify new public engagement opportunities.
    • Assist with administrative and operational tasks as needed.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in or recent graduation from a bachelor’s program in International Relations, Political Science, Middle East Studies, Communications, Management, or a related field.
    • A demonstrated interest in the Middle East and event planning.
    • Experience in event management, marketing, and outreach or communications.
    • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
    • Enthusiasm for learning and developing new skills.
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, writing, and multitasking skills.

    Location & details#

    • This internship is located in Washington, District of Columbia.
    • Work is on-site at the office on N Street NW.
    • The term runs from September 8, 2026, to December 11, 2026.
    • You must be available for 15 to 20 hours per week.
    • This is an unpaid internship.
