About the role#
This is a full-time, seasonal internship within our CMH Health practice. You will work on real-world assignments, focusing on Medicare Advantage and Part D business. This role requires a significant time commitment during our busiest season, typically requiring 40 to 60 hours per week. You will receive competitive pay and are eligible for overtime at time and one-half.
What you'll do#
- Perform data analysis using Excel, VBA, SAS, and Python.
- Conduct pricing and analysis for Medicare Advantage and Part D plans.
- Provide benefit design strategy support for medical, dental, or pharmacy insurance carriers.
- Coordinate with consultants and managers to analyze claims data and model payment scenarios.
- Review peer work and assist with research and product development.
- Participate in consulting activities including reserving, financial projections, and mergers and acquisitions.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, finance, accounting, or related quantitative fields.
- Junior standing is preferred, though freshmen and sophomores will be considered.
- Availability to work full-time from mid-January 2027 to mid-June 2027.
- A 3.2 GPA or above is preferred.
- For those on an actuarial track, having passed at least one actuarial exam is preferred.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This position is located on-site in Chicago, Illinois; Brookfield, Wisconsin; or Windsor, Connecticut.
- If working on-site, you are expected to be in the office at least three days per week.
- This is a paid internship.
