    About the role#

    Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories is looking for an intern to conduct research on decentralized data assimilation. You will focus on multi-physical and multi-component systems governed by large-scale nonlinear differential-algebraic equations.

    What you'll do#

    • Study and develop data assimilation algorithms for complex systems.
    • Implement these algorithms efficiently.
    • Conduct research on decentralized data assimilation methods.

    What you'll need#

    • You must be a senior Ph.D. student in mechanical, electrical, chemical engineering, or a related field.
    • Proficiency in Julia or Python.
    • A strong background in nonlinear estimation and control, Bayesian methods, machine learning, graph theory, or optimization.
    • Demonstrated expertise through peer-reviewed publications or equivalent experience.

    Location & details#

    • This role is based on-site in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
    • The position is full-time.
    • This is a paid internship with a monthly salary between 6,000 and 8,000 dollars.
    • The term is typically 3 months with a rolling start date.
    • Sponsorship is available for qualified candidates.
