    About the role#

    MERL is looking for an intern to research problems at the intersection of multimodal large language models and neural algorithmic reasoning. You will work with the computer vision team to develop algorithms and prepare manuscripts for scientific publications.

    What you'll do#

    • Conduct research on multimodal large language models and neural algorithmic reasoning.
    • Collaborate with researchers in the computer vision team.
    • Develop new algorithms.
    • Prepare manuscripts for scientific publications.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Ph.D. program.
    • Strong background in machine learning and computer vision.
    • Experience training large vision-and-language models for vision-and-language tasks.
    • Proficiency in Python and PyTorch.
    • Experience solving mathematical reasoning problems.
    • A track record of publications in top-tier computer vision and machine learning venues like CVPR or NeurIPS.
    • Participation or wins in mathematical Olympiads are a plus.
    • Publications in theoretical machine learning venues are a plus.

    • Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts.
    • Work modality: On-site.
    • This is a paid, full-time internship.
