About the role#
MNP is hiring a Summer CPA Articling Student for a four-month term starting in May 2027. You will join the Assurance and Accounting team in Calgary to help provide financial information and support to clients. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Develop technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Investigate and fix discrepancies in financial entries and documents.
- Set up charts of accounts and prepare entries for posting.
- Work with the client engagement team and build relationships with client contacts.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and ASPE standards.
- Perform walk-throughs for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
- Prepare technical reports and client summaries.
- Travel as necessary for client work.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a bachelor degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Progressing toward the prerequisites required for the CPA Professional Program.
- Previous office experience in accounting is an asset.
- Experience in customer or client service is an asset.
- Familiarity with accounting and tax software is an asset.
