    About the role#

    As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will join our team to design and develop next-generation sensor systems. You will work across the full hardware development cycle, from prototyping and circuit debugging to field testing with customers. This role involves taking ownership of sensor kits that include LiDAR, cameras, GPS, and IMUs for autonomous field robots.

    What you'll do#

    • Own electrical architecture decisions, component selection, and PCB layout.
    • Design and iterate on sensor integrated systems from concept to production.
    • Collaborate with mechanical, perception, and robotics teams to optimize hardware-software integration.
    • Manage relationships with manufacturing partners and component suppliers.
    • Lead design reviews internally and externally with suppliers and partners.

    What you'll need#

    • Impressive real-world projects completed outside of the classroom.
    • Strong systems architecture capability, including the ability to define the full electrical stack from power input to compute and sensors.
    • Deep PCB design experience, specifically with schematics, high-speed routing, power integrity, and grounding strategy.
    • Experience designing power systems, including DC-DC regulation, battery integration, power budgeting, protection, and EMI considerations.
    • Proficiency in high-speed and mixed-signal design, such as USB, Ethernet, MIPI/CSI, CAN, UART, SPI, and I2C.
    • Ability to make first-principles engineering trade-offs when working with partial information.
    • Firmware proficiency in C/C++ for board bring-up, microcontrollers, and peripheral integration.
    • Experience integrating autonomous system hardware like LiDAR, cameras, GPS, IMUs, and compute platforms such as Jetson.
    • Background working with manufacturers on DFM reviews, contract manufacturing, sourcing, and production test strategy.
    • Enrollment in an Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering program.
