About the role#
This temporary Student Nurse Intern position offers an opportunity to expand your nursing theory and clinical skills through supervised patient care. You will work within a hospital setting to gain hands-on experience while supporting our nursing teams.
What you'll do#
- Perform and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respirations, pulse oximetry, and pain ratings.
- Document clinical data in manual or computer systems.
- Carry out clinical procedures such as specimen collection, venipuncture, EKG, capillary blood glucose monitoring, and application of sequential compression sleeves.
- Assist patients with daily living activities like bathing, feeding, and toileting.
- Maintain skin integrity and provide post-mortem care.
- Transport patients to wheelchairs or stretchers as needed.
What you'll need#
- Completion of the first clinical year in an accredited baccalaureate nursing program, including a medical-surgical rotation.
- A grade point average of 3.5 or above.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Satisfactory recommendations from nursing faculty.
- High School Diploma or Associate Degree.
