About the role#
This internship program offers graduate students the chance to join our Chemical Biology group within the Discovery Chemistry division for a 10-12 week summer term. You will work as a member of our project teams to address synthetic and biological problems related to drug discovery. This position is based on-site in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
What you'll do#
- Design and develop chemoproteomics workflows to study protein complexes in relevant cellular settings.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data while maintaining detailed lab records.
- Use electronic notebooks to document your work and follow safe laboratory practices.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and optimize experimental workflows.
- Attend lab and project meetings to gain insight into pharmaceutical research.
- Present your findings through oral presentations and written reports.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master's or Ph.D. program in Chemistry, Chemical Biology, or a related field.
- Completion of at least two years of graduate studies by June 2027.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Consent from your Principal Investigator to participate.
- Hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture, proteomics or chemoproteomics workflows, and basic molecular biology techniques.
- A basic understanding of chemical biology and molecular biology principles.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team.
- A working knowledge of crosslinking technologies in mass spectrometry is a plus.
