About the role#
The Discovery Immunology group at MSD offers a 10 to 12 week internship for students during the summer of 2027. You will work alongside a diverse team of scientists to study biology pathways that support the drug discovery process. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
What you'll do#
- Study biology pathways relevant to drug discovery.
- Learn and execute cell biology and molecular biology techniques.
- Perform primary and cell line culture.
- Conduct genetic manipulations, including various CRISPR methods.
- Develop assays for qPCR, Western blot, ELISA, imaging, and flow cytometry.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Completed coursework in chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, or immunology.
- Prior experience with mammalian cell culture and immunoassays.
- Basic knowledge of immunology, cell biology, or molecular biology.
- Proficiency in Windows-based operating systems and basic computer applications.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- A motivated mindset and a willingness to learn new science.
