About the role#
The Identity & Access Management (IAM) Intern supports the IAM team through data analysis, documentation, and governance activities. This 12-week summer internship provides hands-on experience with access certifications, identity lifecycle management, and security controls. You will work alongside experienced professionals to gain practical knowledge of risk management and industry best practices.
What you'll do#
- Assist in reviewing and validating access management data and reports.
- Support user access reviews and access certification activities.
- Document IAM processes, workflows, procedures, and control requirements.
- Review account and authorization data to identify potential access concerns.
- Maintain governance documentation, standards, and operational records.
- Support audit preparation by gathering and organizing evidence.
- Compile and analyze data related to IAM operations and controls.
- Create reports, dashboards, and presentations for management and stakeholders.
- Track key performance indicators and operational metrics.
- Conduct research and trend analysis to support process improvement.
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Participate in meetings with business and technical teams.
- Gather and document business needs and functional requirements.
- Collaborate on projects involving identity lifecycle management and compliance.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Information Technology, or a related field, with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of information security concepts and data analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Coursework or exposure to IAM, Cybersecurity, Risk Management, or Information Security.
- Familiarity with data analysis, reporting, or business process documentation.
- Experience using collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams.
- Interest in IT governance, compliance, audit, or security operations.

- Term: Summer 2027 (May to August).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Locations: Vienna, Virginia or Pensacola, Florida.
- Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
