    About the role#

    The Identity & Access Management (IAM) Intern supports the IAM team through data analysis, documentation, and governance activities. This 12-week summer internship provides hands-on experience with access certifications, identity lifecycle management, and security controls. You will work alongside experienced professionals to gain practical knowledge of risk management and industry best practices.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist in reviewing and validating access management data and reports.
    • Support user access reviews and access certification activities.
    • Document IAM processes, workflows, procedures, and control requirements.
    • Review account and authorization data to identify potential access concerns.
    • Maintain governance documentation, standards, and operational records.
    • Support audit preparation by gathering and organizing evidence.
    • Compile and analyze data related to IAM operations and controls.
    • Create reports, dashboards, and presentations for management and stakeholders.
    • Track key performance indicators and operational metrics.
    • Conduct research and trend analysis to support process improvement.
    • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
    • Participate in meetings with business and technical teams.
    • Gather and document business needs and functional requirements.
    • Collaborate on projects involving identity lifecycle management and compliance.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Information Technology, or a related field, with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Basic understanding of information security concepts and data analysis.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Coursework or exposure to IAM, Cybersecurity, Risk Management, or Information Security.
    • Familiarity with data analysis, reporting, or business process documentation.
    • Experience using collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams.
    • Interest in IT governance, compliance, audit, or security operations.

    • Term: Summer 2027 (May to August).
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Locations: Vienna, Virginia or Pensacola, Florida.
    • Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
