About the role#
Join our team as a Summer Associate to help strengthen how we make portfolio decisions. You will focus on turning operating model adoption into clearer decision inputs, sharper trade-offs, and more consistent follow-through. You will work with a small set of high-impact measures to help leaders see what is working and what to improve next.
What you'll do#
- Draft a Decision Quality Scorecard template and a Decision Effectiveness field guide.
- Develop a practical Decision Quality Index (DQI) and pilot it with a limited number of teams.
- Create a signal-to-decision map to identify which signals are used versus ignored.
- Run constraint scenarios or stress tests to identify where the operating model needs mitigation.
- Translate findings into executive-ready artifacts, including a concise readout with recommendations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Computer Science, or Data Science from an accredited college or university with a graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to translate ambiguous inputs into clear insights.
- Comfort working with senior stakeholders and facilitating structured conversations about trade-offs.
- Ability to communicate crisply in writing for executive summaries, scorecards, and playbooks.
- Exposure to operating models, governance, portfolio management, or Agile/Lean methodologies.
- Familiarity with KPI design, dashboards, performance measurement systems, or decision flow mapping.
- Ability to run lightweight stress tests, scenario analysis, or pre-mortems.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through across multiple workstreams.
Location & details#
- This is a 12-week, full-time, paid internship running from May 2027 to August 2027.
- The role is on-site at our locations in Vienna, VA; Pensacola, FL; or Winchester, VA.
- Working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM CT.
