About the role#
As a Summer Associate Mobile Developer, you will join a cross-functional Agile team to support the development and maintenance of mobile banking applications for iOS and Android. This 12-week internship, running from May 2027 through August 2027, focuses on foundational contributions and professional growth. You will work on clearly scoped tasks under the guidance of experienced developers to deliver secure and reliable digital experiences for our members.
What you'll do#
- Build mobile features, user interface components, and defect fixes.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies like daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with product owners, designers, quality engineers, and backend teams.
- Write and maintain unit and user interface tests.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues.
- Learn and apply secure coding practices, accessibility standards, and platform-specific best practices.
- Support integration with RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Use version control and contribute to technical documentation.
- Communicate project progress, risks, and outcomes to your team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Foundational knowledge of object-oriented programming and software development concepts.
- Familiarity with at least one programming language.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
- Curiosity, accountability, and a willingness to learn from mentorship.
- Experience with debugging, automation, authentication, or security is a plus.
- Previous experience with pet projects or other companies is helpful.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship.
- Working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Locations include Vienna, VA; Pensacola, FL; Winchester, VA; and San Diego, CA.
