About the role#
The Advancement Office at Newman University is hiring a student to help with campus events and office administration. This role balances physical event support with desk work. You will spend about 75% of your time on event setup and logistics, with the remaining 25% dedicated to administrative tasks.
What you'll do#
- Set up and tear down tables, chairs, linens, signage, décor, and event equipment.
- Arrange event spaces to ensure they are clean, organized, and ready for guests.
- Transport supplies between storage and event locations.
- Serve as an on-site representative for the Advancement Office during campus and external events.
- Greet vendors and guests while answering event-related questions.
- Assist with data entry, filing, mailings, and general office tasks.
- Support alumni and advancement events through preparation, decorating, and auction assistance.
What you'll need#
- Must be a current Newman University student enrolled full-time.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A customer service oriented mindset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Location & details#
- Location: Wichita, Kansas.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Term: Rolling.
- Schedule: Approximately 10 hours per week. Shifts vary across days, evenings, and weekends based on the event calendar and office needs.
