About the role#
NewsNation is hiring interns for the Fall 2026 term. This paid internship offers a hands-on learning experience at a national cable news network. You will work within a bureau or on a production team to support editorial newsgathering. Interns also attend training sessions and workshops to learn about the editorial, business, and technical operations of a 24-hour news organization.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research for news segments.
- Pitch stories to the editorial team.
- Identify and contact prospective guests.
- Source video content from social media.
- Perform desktop video editing.
- Write scripts and create graphics.
- Shadow professionals in various editorial roles.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student.
- Academic background in Journalism, Communications, English, Marketing, or related fields.
- A curious, energetic, and hardworking approach to news.
- Ability to work well as a team player.
- Openness to feedback and constructive criticism.

- Location: Washington, DC.

- Term: September 8, 2026, through December 4, 2026.
- Compensation: $18.40 per hour.
