About the role#
This unpaid internship at KSN offers students a look into professional broadcast journalism. You will learn how a newsroom operates by shadowing and working with producers, photographers, reporters, and the digital team. This role is intended for students in the early to middle stages of their college career who need to earn academic credit.
What you'll do#
- Shadow and assist various newsroom staff members.
- Learn the basics of writing, researching, photojournalism, and video editing.
- Participate in the process of producing newscasts.
- Complete any necessary paperwork to ensure you receive college credit.
- Receive a written performance review from your supervisor at the end of the term.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university.
- A moderate skill level to handle project tasks.
- Ability to work 2-3 shifts per week, which may include evenings, weekends, or early mornings.
- A collaborative mindset and a willingness to learn.
- Fluency in English (Spanish fluency is a plus).
- Previous internship experience is helpful but not required.

- Location: Wichita, Kansas.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Rolling basis, 16-25 hours per week for up to 15 weeks.
