About the role#
DC News Now offers a summer internship program for students interested in broadcast media. This role provides practical experience within the News Department to help you understand how a television station operates. You will work under the supervision of a manager to gain hands-on skills throughout the summer of 2026.
What you'll do#
- Attend daily news meetings.
- Research stories for both online and broadcast platforms.
- Assist reporters and producers with their daily tasks.
- Transcribe interviews.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Communications or Journalism program.
- Strong communication skills.
- A collaborative mindset and a willingness to learn new tasks.
- Flexibility to handle a variety of assignments.
Location & details#
- Location: Washington, DC.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Schedule: 20 to 30 hours per week for up to 12 weeks.
- This is an unpaid internship and does not include wages, compensation, or benefits.
