About the role#
This co-op position is based in Saginaw, Michigan, and supports manufacturing and controls engineering activities at Plant 4. You will gain hands-on experience in a technical environment, working alongside engineers to bridge the gap between classroom theory and daily operations.
What you'll do#
- Use Lean manufacturing tools and lead Kaizen activities to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- Help engineers troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and create solutions.
- Support new product introductions by writing manufacturing procedures, documenting workflows, and managing equipment layouts.
- Design jigs, fixtures, and tooling using CAD software.
- Collect and analyze data regarding production performance, labor standards, and quality defects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors program for Mechanical, Industrial, or Computer Engineering.
- A cumulative GPA of at least 2.7 on a 4.0 scale.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access, and SQL.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills with a focus on detail.
