About the role#
This co-op position supports Global Steering Core and Architecture activities at Nexteer Automotive in Saginaw, Michigan. You will help advance Product Line Engineering (PLE) practices by rolling out PLE tools across multiple engineering disciplines. This role provides hands-on experience in a technical environment, connecting your classroom education with automotive industry practices.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with hardware, electrical, software, and systems engineering teams to support the implementation of the Pure Variant PLE tool.
- Develop and maintain variant feature models that define product variability and configuration logic.
- Apply restriction attributes to requirements and other artifacts to ensure accurate product assets output.
- Contribute to the development and documentation of PLE processes.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance tool usability and integration across disciplines.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum cumulative 2.7 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Status as a full-time student (12 or more credits) during Fall and Winter semesters.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Authorization to work in the US without requiring current or future sponsorship.
- Strong communication, documentation, and attention to detail.
