About the role#
We are looking for a Systems Safety Engineering Intern to join our Strategic Deterrent Systems Division in Roy, Utah. This is a full-time summer 2027 internship. You will work on-site for at least 10 weeks, contributing to technical planning and system integration efforts.
What you'll do#
- Perform technical planning, system integration, verification, and validation.
- Conduct cost, risk, supportability, and effectiveness analyses across the system lifecycle, from concept and design to disposal.
- Convert customer requirements into total systems solutions while managing technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Execute functional and timeline analyses, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies.
- Translate customer needs into specific hardware and software specifications.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college or university, with plans to be enrolled full-time in Fall 2027.
- A major in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week for at least 10 weeks during the summer of 2027.
