    About the role#

    Northrop Grumman is seeking a Systems Engineering Intern to join the Strategic Deterrent Systems Division in Huntsville, Alabama. This is a paid, full-time internship for the summer of 2027.

    What you'll do#

    • Perform technical planning, system integration, and verification and validation.
    • Conduct cost, risk, supportability, and effectiveness analyses across the total system product lifecycle, from concept and design to maintenance and disposal.
    • Convert customer and product requirements into total system solutions while managing technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
    • Execute functional and timeline analyses, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition to translate requirements into hardware and software specifications.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college or university, with plans to be enrolled full-time in Fall 2027.
    • A major in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Systems Engineering.
    • Availability to work 40 hours per week for at least 10 weeks during the summer of 2027.
    • U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.
    • A cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher is preferred.
    • A current active Secret Security Clearance or higher is preferred.

    • Location: Huntsville, Alabama.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Duration: Summer 2027 (minimum 10 weeks).
    • Travel: Approximately 10% of the time.
