About the role#
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Systems Engineering Intern to join the Strategic Deterrent Systems Division in Huntsville, Alabama. This is a paid, full-time internship for the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Perform technical planning, system integration, and verification and validation.
- Conduct cost, risk, supportability, and effectiveness analyses across the total system product lifecycle, from concept and design to maintenance and disposal.
- Convert customer and product requirements into total system solutions while managing technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Execute functional and timeline analyses, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition to translate requirements into hardware and software specifications.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college or university, with plans to be enrolled full-time in Fall 2027.
- A major in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Systems Engineering.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week for at least 10 weeks during the summer of 2027.
- U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher is preferred.
- A current active Secret Security Clearance or higher is preferred.
