About the role#
The Private Debt and Equity group at Northwestern Mutual has invested in private markets for over 30 years. As an Investment Analyst Intern, you will work within a lean deal team to evaluate direct private equity and debt investment opportunities across various industries. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Milwaukee for the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Analyze, model, and monitor private equity and debt investments.
- Develop cash flow models and investment theses.
- Perform risk analyses to support transaction decisions.
- Coordinate and communicate directly with corporate executives.
- Present investment opportunities to senior members of Northwestern Mutual Capital.
- Participate in professional development workshops and networking events.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Previous experience in Investment Banking, Equity Research, Private Equity, or Corporate Development.
- Strong financial modeling skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
