About the role#
Nox Group is hiring Field Engineer Interns for a 12-week program in Pecos, Texas. This position offers hands-on experience in the construction industry, allowing you to apply classroom knowledge to active projects. You will work alongside project managers and engineers, gaining exposure to preconstruction, estimating, industrial, and manufacturing work. This is a full-time, paid, on-site role.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate with project engineers and superintendents to support field operations.
- Perform survey and layout work to ensure accurate installations.
- Participate in quality control programs and project meetings.
- Manage project documents, including drawings, submittals, and specifications.
- Report field issues to the project team to help resolve problems quickly.
- Track and report quantities of installed materials and equipment.
- Maintain on-site equipment and material storage.
- Update record drawings and as-builts.
- Manage permit documents, such as SWPPP and dust control.
- Document project progress through weekly photos.
- Build relationships with stakeholders and ensure contractual compliance.
- Assist with training and mentoring.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering program.
- Ability to communicate effectively and assume responsibility.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A positive and teachable attitude.
- Ability to meet physical requirements, such as lifting up to 50 pounds and performing tasks like walking, standing, bending, and climbing.
