    About the role#

    We are looking for an intern to join our robotics team in Long Beach. You will assist in building and integrating unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) platforms used for autonomous testing and sensor development. This role is for students interested in robotics, mechatronics, and embedded systems who enjoy hands-on work with hardware.

    What you'll do#

    • Assemble and maintain UAV platforms used for research and development.
    • Integrate sensors, cameras, radios, and communication modules.
    • Perform wiring, soldering, and hardware setup for onboard electronics.
    • Verify hardware functionality including power, communication, and sensor outputs.
    • Assist with bench testing and flight testing preparation.
    • Document wiring diagrams, system configurations, and integration procedures.
    • Support field flight testing operations, which requires travel approximately 20 percent of the time.

    What you'll need#

    • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
    • Strong interest in robotics systems and UAVs.
    • Basic knowledge of electronics and electrical systems.
    • Experience with wiring, connectors, or soldering.
    • Familiarity with Linux and basic programming in Python or C++.
    • Ability to work hands-on with hardware and troubleshoot issues.
