About the role#
Oncor Electric Delivery is hiring a Protection & Control Engineering Specialist Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship. You will work with protection and control equipment, SCADA systems, and communication devices to help maintain the reliability of the Texas transmission grid.
What you'll do#
- Install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain protection and control equipment and SCADA systems.
- Monitor performance data and investigate questionable operations within the protection and control system.
- Develop written procedures to guide construction and maintenance activities safely.
- Assist in providing technical direction for transmission work center operations and system fault analysis.
- Support the operation of relaying schemes to prevent system disturbances and reduce customer outages.
What you'll need#
- You must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Systems Engineering Technology, Electrical Power Engineering Technology, or Mechatronics Engineering Technology.

- This role is on-site.
- Internship locations include Dallas, Fort Worth, Odessa, Tyler, and Waco, Texas.
