About the role#
As an Integrated Circuits Intern in the Silicon Architecture group, you will contribute to the design of integrated circuits. Your work will span the entire lifecycle, from conceptual phases and detailed design to implementation, verification, testing, and final delivery. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to develop architectural concepts and evaluate them through modeling, analysis, and simulation.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and enhance engineering solutions for complex customer problems.
- Implement, test, and perform analysis, including the creation of test reports with plots, tables, and evaluation criteria.
- Design and simulate circuits using functional modeling tools and at the transistor level.
- Perform System-on-chip (SOC) design trades between analog, digital hardware, and software implementations.
- Evaluate the feasibility, costs, and benefits of algorithm implementation in hardware versus software.
- Participate in top-level verification planning and contribute to test plans.
- Conduct bench-level testing and develop design documentation, including architectural descriptions and interface definitions.
- Complete assignments designed to build practical knowledge of processes, procedures, and systems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- Proficiency with Cadence or equivalent integrated circuit design tools such as Virtuoso, Genus, Innovus, Tempus, or Voltus.
- Strong computer skills, including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, mathematical skills, and attention to detail.
- A strong work ethic and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments, risks, and vulnerabilities.
- Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
- This is a full-time, on-site internship.
- The role follows a rolling term schedule with flexibility regarding hours and duration based on your school schedule.
