About the role#
Draper is seeking students for an Acoustic and Vibration Technologies Co-op. You will join a team focused on the research and development of sensing and communication systems. This includes work on sensors, electronics, and signal processing to solve problems in defense and space exploration.
What you'll do#
- Design and develop engineering solutions for complex technical problems.
- Implement and test systems, perform data analysis, and provide documentation support.
- Generate test reports that include plots, tables, evaluation criteria, and conclusions.
- Complete assignments to build practical knowledge of engineering processes, equipment, and systems.
- Work with custom and COTS sensors, low-noise signal conditioning hardware, embedded processors, and DSP algorithms.
- Create simulations and models that incorporate relevant physics and signal processing methods.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Accounting.
- Ability to work full-time for a 6-month period.
- Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments, risks, and vulnerabilities.
- Experience with tools such as C, C++, MATLAB, Python, LTspice, Simulink, COMSOL, or data acquisition systems like National Instruments is desired.
