About the role#
This internship provides active-duty military personnel the opportunity to train as a Transmission System Operator. You will assist in directing the safe construction, maintenance, and repair of transmission and substation equipment. The role focuses on maintaining system reliability for the Oncor network and the ERCOT grid.
What you'll do#
- Monitor and control the transmission system to provide power to customers.
- Read and interpret transmission project plans to check for safety, feasibility, and accuracy.
- Respond to alarms and outages for distribution and transmission equipment.
- Coordinate with ERCOT, generators, and field personnel to maintain reliability during power disruptions.
- Follow the Oncor safety handbook at all times.
What you'll need#
- You must be active-duty military and within the last 180 days of your service to qualify.
- Ability to monitor and control transmission systems.
- Skills to interpret complex transmission project plans.
- Experience or ability to coordinate with ERCOT and neighboring transmission operators.
- Commitment to safety standards.

- Location: Dallas, Texas.
- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship.
- The program operates on a rolling basis.
