About the role#
As a Project Engineer Intern at Peak Construction Corporation, you will join our project team to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry. You will support active projects from pre-construction through to closeout, gaining exposure to both field and office operations. This role provides a foundation for future work in project management, field supervision, estimating, or safety.
What you'll do#
- Assist with scheduling, document control, safety protocols, and coordination tasks.
- Support budget development, subcontractor coordination, and procurement tracking.
- Monitor job-site conditions and flag potential safety risks.
- Track and organize critical project documents, including submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Facilitate closeout procedures and monitor punch list progress.
What you'll need#
- You must be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Architecture, or Operations Management.
- You are an effective and energetic communicator with leadership capabilities.
- You have the ability to work collaboratively and constructively with others.
- You are self-motivated and able to prioritize competing demands.
- You possess proficiency in, or the ability to learn, Project Management software, Bluebeam, MS Excel, and Project.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Rosemont, Illinois.
- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
- We do not offer visa sponsorship for this role.
- Travel may be required as projects are nationwide.
