About the role#
As a Greenkeeper Intern, you will perform routine manual labor and semi-skilled grounds maintenance at Pebble Beach Golf Links. You will work under the supervision of the golf course superintendent or assistant superintendent. You may be assigned specific responsibility for the care and maintenance of several designated holes on the course. Because the resort operates seven days a week, you may be scheduled to work holidays and weekends.
What you'll do#
- Operate mowers, string trimmers, and utility vehicles to maintain greens, tees, aprons, and surrounding areas.
- Edge cart paths, rake sand bunkers, and maintain ball washers.
- Set tee markers and cups daily, replace flags and towels, and remove debris.
- Sand and seed divots, clean flower beds, and maintain dune or forested sites.
- Assist with construction projects including grading soil, laying sod, and seeding fairways.
- Excavate and backfill trenches using hand tools.
- Maintain fuel and fluid levels for all equipment and report mechanical issues to the shop.
- Clean maintenance areas and return all equipment to designated locations after use.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a two or four year Turfgrass Management degree or certificate program, or a related field.
- A valid driver license with 2 points or less.
- A willingness to learn and expand your current skill set.
- General knowledge of golf turf fundamentals and familiarity with golf terminology.
- Prior golf course or sports turf experience is preferred.
- A golf background is also preferred.

- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Pebble Beach, California.
- The role is temporary and follows a rolling schedule.
