About the role#
As a Software Intern, you will support the development and delivery of digital solutions by working alongside experienced professionals. You will contribute to real business initiatives and gain exposure to modern software development practices. This role mirrors the responsibilities expected of entry-level software professionals at Pella.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the development and deployment of web-based applications and digital solutions.
- Learn and apply modern software development practices, including version control, testing, and CI/CD processes.
- Collaborate with developers and technical leads to create and integrate APIs, services, and application features.
- Partner with Product and Design teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Support the delivery of new features through iterative development.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of version control tools like Git and GitHub.
- Familiarity with one or more programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, Python, or C++.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn new technologies.
Location & details#
- Term: Summer 2027 (End of May to Early August).
- Locations: On-site in Pella, Iowa, or Urbandale, Iowa.
- Compensation: $27.25 per hour.
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
