About the role#
Join the metrology team at Pratt & Whitney Canada to support research and development projects for turbine engine components. You will work on technology development to improve dimensional measurement techniques. This internship places you within a multidisciplinary team where you will contribute to the digital transformation of our manufacturing practices.
What you'll do#
- Digitize engine part definitions and product manufacturing information (PMI) for use in planning, CNC, and CMM programming.
- Create applications or algorithms to automate manufacturing tasks and increase process efficiency.
- Evaluate and test third-party digital solutions to meet specific manufacturing needs.
- Define and test use cases for data science to extract value from manufacturing data.
- Participate in the design of solutions and present your findings to the team.
- Develop test plans, documentation, and training materials for new solutions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Canadian university throughout the internship period.
- Studies in computer science, mechanical engineering, or aeronautical engineering.
- Eligibility to work in Canada.
- Working knowledge of both English and French.
- Assets include experience with CATIA V5 or V6, programming languages (VBA, C++, HTML, Python, SQL), mechanical design, CAM software, and part inspection (CMM or 3D scanning).
Location & details#
- Location: Longueuil, Quebec.
- Term: January 5 to April 23, 2027.
- Modality: Full-time, on-site, Monday to Friday with flexible hours.
- Requirements: Candidates must pass a background check and obtain authorizations for handling controlled goods.
