    About the role#

    As a Test Engineer Intern, you will design and operate rocket engine test stands for Terran R engines and stages. You will work alongside experienced operations and ground systems engineers and technicians to build and modify test facilities. You will also participate in test campaigns to flight qualify hardware. This role involves daily test operations, maintenance, construction, and commissioning activities in the field. You may focus on designing ground systems or conducting test operations.

    What you'll do#

    • Design advanced propulsion test stands using 3D modeling, fluids, structural, and thermal analysis.
    • Supervise the construction, commissioning, and initial operations of test facilities.
    • Create, modify, and optimize test sequences, procedures, and data review processes.
    • Conduct complex propulsion test operations to assess the performance of rocket engines and stages.
    • Control and receive telemetry from test stands and test articles through GUIs and integrated software.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program for mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
    • Strong engineering fundamentals in thermal, structural, and fluids analysis.
    • Demonstrated drive to deliver on tight schedules.
    • Hands-on fabrication experience using common power tools.
