About the role#
This internship introduces you to public accounting. You will work as a full team member for at least eight weeks. Each intern is assigned a Career Advocate to help set and reach personal goals. You will receive an orientation on firm administrative and professional matters and learn to use our accounting and tax networks.
What you'll do#
- Communicate directly with clients and staff.
- Perform client work both in the office and at client locations.
- Complete audit testing and procedures for key engagement areas.
- Research industries and comparable companies using public documents.
- Write reports covering company backgrounds, financial reviews, and industry outlooks.
- Create and maintain workpaper documentation for client engagements.
- Gain insight into the audit risk assessment and analysis process.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior academic standing.
- Completion of introductory accounting courses.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Prior completion of an Auditing or Tax class is preferred.
