About the role#
The Entrepreneurial Services Group at RubinBrown partners with business owners to improve and grow their companies. This department handles a broad range of accounting and tax issues for emerging entrepreneurial enterprises.
What you'll do#
- Apply general accounting procedures to various client engagements.
- Plan and execute day-to-day activities for small business clients.
- Review client documentation to prepare financial statements.
- Perform attest procedures, such as reviews and compilations.
- Assist with income tax planning and the preparation of tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals.
- Maintain client records and general ledgers on automated systems.
- Prepare payroll tax reports, filings, 1099s, and W-2 forms.
- Communicate accounting and tax matters to the engagement team.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Progress toward CPA certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
- Strong technical skills and a commitment to learning new technology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well with others and build relationships with clients.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based in Kansas City, Missouri.
- The role is on-site and scheduled for the Winter 2028 term.
