About the role#
The Junior Systems Administrator role focuses on automating processes and providing support for on-premises and cloud technologies. You will work with senior team members to maintain software and equipment while managing relationships with external organizations to resolve technical issues. This is a paid, full-time co-op position for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Respond to and prioritize technical support requests.
- Identify support issues, determine causes, and find resolutions.
- Automate software installations and operational processes alongside senior staff.
- Install and maintain technical equipment and software.
- Prepare and maintain procedural and educational documentation.
- Provide recommendations on the effective use of technology.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least one year of post-secondary education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Completion of at least one previous co-op work term.
- Experience in a technical support role involving on-prem and cloud technology, such as Active Directory, Azure AD, Office 365, Exchange, SharePoint, and Windows client and server OS.
- Knowledge of PowerShell and programming languages is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Location & details#
- Location: Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January to April).
- Compensation: $22.40 to $28.60 per hour, depending on year of study, academic program, and prior co-op experience.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift or move objects up to 20lbs.
