About the role#
As a GXMO Student at Salem Regional Medical Center, you will work in the Medical Imaging Department. You will carry out technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative to apply ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis. This role involves caring for a patient population that includes both adolescents and geriatrics, requiring you to identify and respond to their specific needs.
What you'll do#
- Perform assigned duties according to established hospital policies and procedures.
- Apply ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis using independent judgment.
- Care for patients in both long-term and acute care settings.
- Function effectively and efficiently during emergency situations.
- Make quick, informed decisions as necessary.
- Complete other job-related tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited radiography program.
- Verification of successful completion of the GXMO test.
- Valid Ohio State Radiological License.
- Ability to reach full productivity within 60 working days.
- Understanding of radiographic procedures, sterile techniques, and basic nursing skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and Imaging Department functions.
- Proficiency in image processing and clerical procedures.
- Completion of required orientation and safety programs.
